Oh yes, the fourth of July, once a dreaded and feared day that left little redheaded bi speckled Nora tear stained and shaken, now a day that she gets to play "don't you dare light that in your hand!" and "eccckkk! is the neighbor's roof smoking from our illegal flying explody things?"
Despite my fun games we had good ole American fun, ie: we drove around trying to avoid crowds but still get the best view of the fireworks which lead us to sit on a stranger's lawn and laugh at their jokes and farts (really, apparently they served really good beans about 3 hours prior to our arrival). In case you were wondering, the 4th of July-ivars fireworks, not so great, WaMu 4th, how-did-they-do-that good. We did a case study since we could see both shows. So fireworks are supposed to be illegal in Seattle, but it sounded like bombs over baghdad in our neighborhood and the po po's frown on you calling in your neighbors, so we just watched and listened for screams or flying fingers.
and good news! The Zoo is open on the fourth and not very crowded, but we discovered that anyone that has to work on the fourth tends to be bitter and grumpy, and I don't blame them...

Nora-
I love your blog. Sara may have told you that you inspired me to start posting pix too. My family loves it. Avery is beautiful and you all look like you are having so much fun. She reminds me of Noah with just a little bit of fuzzy hair. Hope to see you soon.
